HI! I'M MICHELLE!
Confession ... I hate writing About Me content that's actually about me. I'm great at writing about other people, but when it comes time to describe myself to strangers on the internet, my mind draws a blank.
But, let's give this a try.
I'm a Generation X, Virgo, Enneagram 5 (aka The Thinker), black coffee drinker, only child, introvert.
I founded Bold and Italic in 2013 after over a decade in communications, fund development, and non-profit event management. Since then, I've worked with an amazing and diverse list of clients, helping them navigate the ever-changing and increasingly-frustrating maze of digital and analog marketing. From internationally-known festivals to local retail, I really just love helping my clients achieve their goals.
Another confession ... I'm also a perfect example of the cobbler's kids having no shoes, which is why my own social media profiles are very sparce and it has taken me a year to update my website. But I have happy clients!
I moved back to my hometown of Truro, Nova Scotia in 2010, and am a big cheerleader for my community. I'm the co-founder of Local Love Truro, and joined the board of the Truro Colchester Partnership for Economic Prosperity in 2023. I'm constantly inspired by the vibrancy, ingenuity and creativity of my fellow local business people, and my hometown's growing community pride and spirit.
I work from a home office, usually with a podcast or CBC playing in the background, with occasional breaks (i.e. motivation to wear pants) at my favourite local coffee shop.
In my free time, I love to read, travel, and take photos.
An yet another confession ... I'm also a chronic comfort re-watcher of television shows, and my favourites are The Newsroom, Veronica Mars, Parks and Recreation, Derry Girls, and Broad City.
Oh, and I'm also the emotional support human to an 11-year-old chihuahua named Roxy, who loves a good sunbeam.
